Graduation Day is a major occasion in the life of a Rockbrook student. The following customary events take place around graduation
On Awards Day – i.e. the day before graduation & last day of schooling:
- 6th years welcomed to staff room for coffee
- tree planting ceremony
- 6th years return to school led by principal and receive a guard of honour applause from all classes
- early lunch for 6th years served up by senior teachers
- Awards Day ceremony
- 6th year v Teachers match
- from 2015: teachers v student debate, usually on Awards Day
- Penalty shoot-out at lunchtime, between staff and students, usually two days previously
On Graduation Day:
- students arrive for photos at 4pm
- students available to greet parents for graduation Mass (choir of other students, musicians) at 6 pm
- graduation meal, speeches, presentations from 7 pm
- photographs with families
