Parents are at the heart of a child’s education in Rockbrook. The school seeks to reinforce the Christian values of the home. In order that parents and the school work together, Rockbrook asks parents to spend a little more time around the school and in meeting together. The annual expectation on parents is attendance at two parent-teacher meetings, two mentor meetings, one or two class group meetings, and support or involvement in some school activity (Parent Association event or meetings, father-son club, Open Days, Shows or fundraising event).
The school also encourages parents to meet with teachers as often as required in order to help support the learning and teaching role of the school. (see Parent-Teacher partnership)
The school’s unique mentoring system (see Mentoring) fosters a friendly cordial atmosphere in the school, encourages trust, and helps build a high degree of cooperation between the teaching body, parents and students in the school.
The school has a published Handbook for parents. An electronic version of this is available for download from the downloads section of this website (see top right hand corner of homepage). Due to many changes taking place in school procedures due primarily to revised management structures and new Junior Cycle developments a new version of this Handbook is due in early 2020.
The school evaluation report which highlights current priorities in the school is attached here
